Profile Bernard Busuttil

Bernard Busuttil started his music studies at the age of six studying pianoforte, theory of music and later pipe organ. He took up his vocal studies at the Johann Strauss School of Music under the guidance of soprano Miriam Cauchi. He has carried out masterclasses with Juliette Bisazza Zanni and Prof. Laura Sarti.

He has performed in the choir of various opera productions; Un Ballo in Maschera, Otello, Tosca, La Bohéme, Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, Macbeth, Turandot, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Norma, Nabucco, Il-Wegħda and Falstaff and as a soloist he also appeared in Madama Butterfly (Principe Yamadori) and Otello (Roderigo).

He gave recitals in Malta, Paris and Sicily and also sang in concert versions of L’Elisir d’Amore (Nemorino), La Bohéme (Rodolfo) and La Principessa della Czarda (Edwin) and was a soloist in concerts of sacred music.

In 2010 he sang in the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s Debutantes’ Concert and in the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s Christmas Concert.

Bernard also holds Bachelor’s degrees in Law, Economics and Public Policy and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy.

This will be Bernard Busuttil’s debut as a soloist at the Teatru tal-Opra Aurora.
