Filippo Micale

Tenor Filippo Micale was born in Catania. He graduated in singing at the "Vincenzo Bellini" Music Institute in Catania. He began his first studies with the Tenor Salvatore Fisichella. Later, after moving to Verona, He continued of his perfection with Mezzosoprano Adriana Lazzarini. A promising student of her, he is a winner and also a finalist in important International Operal Competitions: Ismaele Voltolini (Mantova), Anselmo Colzani (Budrio), Martinelli Pertile (Montagnana) and Ritorna Vincitor (Ercolano). In 2000, in the Province of Padova, at the Teatro Filarmonico of Piove di Sacco. He made his first debut in Tosca in the role of the protagonist Mario Cavaradossi and in the following years, He debuted important roles in Italy and abroad: Macbeth, Il Trovatore, Lombardi alla prima crociata, Un ballo in maschera, Cavalleria Rusticana, Tabarro, Otello, La Baronessa di Carini, Turandot, Sakuntala, Aida at major International Theaters such as; The State Opera of Tbilisi (Georgia), The Greek Theater of Syracuse , The Ancient Theater of Taormina, The Consorzio Theater of Budrio, The Teatro Coccia of Novara, The Politeama Theater of Catanzaro, The Teatro Filarmonico of Verona, The Teatro Comunale E. Sollima of Marsala, The Biondo Theater of Palermo, The Teatro Massimo Bellini of Catania in conjunction with an intense international concert activity at the most important and sought-after Associations, Academies, Circles, Universities and Opera Festivals. One of the most important performances is the” Welcome Concert” in honor of S.A.S. Albert II of Monaco in Noto in the province of Syracuse; to the Ester Mazzoleni Association and to the Academy of Sicily in Palermo; at the Official Club of Castelvecchio and the Zenatello Association of Verona; at the Mozarthaus and the National Radio Television TRT 3 in Ankara (Turkey); at the Italian Art Museum in China (Běijīng); at the XX edition of the International Easter Festival of Sacred Music, conceived by the well-known director and Artistic Director Enrico Castiglione, at "The Basilica of Sant'Andrea della Valle" in Rome, in which there were the likes of Mstislaw Rostropovich, Lorin Maazel, Montserrat Caballé, José Cura, Renato Bruson, Cecilia Gasdia, Katia Ricciarelli, Placido Domingo and many other stars in the world of international music. It has been reconfirmed and signed by 2015-2017, within the prestigious "Belliniano Internazionale Festival" at the Ancient Theater of Taormina with several Gala Concerts, in works such as Madama Butterfly and Bohème broadcast via satellite in cinemas across Europe and on Classic HD Sky. He has recently performed in the” Traditional closing concert” of the IX edition of the Belliniano Festival on the occasion of the birth of Vincenzo Bellini at the Cathedral of Catania, where the remains of the composer is resting. He has conducted Singing Masterclasses at the State Conservatory of Ankara University and at the Feng-Chia and Mingdau Universities in Taiwan. He has been awarded with prestigious career awards and for the social and artistic commitment in the world such as the Giuseppe Lugo award conferred by the Arena of Verona, The Ida Presti,The Federico II of Svevia and the Silver Pigna Award. He obtained the title of "Academic of Sicily" and was awarded the Alessandro Scarlatti prize at the V. Bellini State Conservatory in Palermo. He has been directed and accompanied by illustrious conductors and pianists of international renown: Hacibaba Adiloğlu, Daniele Petralia, Carlo Palleschi, Leonardo Marzaglia, Giovanni Pelliccia, Julian Kovatchev, Bruno Tirotta, Antonino Manuli, Andrea Albertin, Myron Michailidis, Nikša Bareza , Marco Boemi and collaborated with the most important directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Stefano Trespidi, Domenico Calopresti, Carmelo Agnello, Stefano Vizioli, Enrico Castiglione.
