As the 7th edition of our Leone Goes Pop approaches, more people and organisations are jumping on board our wagon and supporting our cultural cause… simply because the Leone has proved itself and people believe in the validity of its cause. Through this short note, the Leone Philharmonic Society would like to show its deep gratitude to those who have already pledged their support towards the 7th edition of Leone Goes PopIn no specific order of precedence, these are our benefactors this year… so far.

Citadel Insurance and Farsons Foundation. These are our two main sponsors, as they have been ever since we have been producing the Leone Goes Pop concerts.

Puma Errea (Gozo) and Duke’s Café have sponsored the printing of our promotional leaflets, which include the fixtures of the 2014 Brazil World Cup Finals games. Thanks to these two generous sponsors, every Gozitan household will have a copy of the games’ fixtures in its household. The same applies for ferry passengers crossing the channel between Malta and Gozo in the coming weekends. Household distribution goes thanks to Ta’ Dirjanu Supermarkets, who kindly accepted to sponsor and facilitate the dissemination of the posters and fixtures with their special-offers newssheet.

Special thanks also goes to Arkadia shopping complex for joining the list of distinguished sponsors and supporters. A well-established household name in the Gozitan retailing industry, it is always a pleasure and an honour to be supported by the establishment.

The list of distinguished sponsors goes to include the Ministry for Gozo, the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government and the Malta Tourism Authority together with the Victoria Local Council. Their constant support is proof of the validity of the cultural contribution by the Leone Band. While in no way does it pretend to replace the Government’s take on culture, the Leone Philharmonic Society always tries to complement any ongoing strategy and efforts in enriching the local and national cultural scene, making our region and country more attractive and helping the cultural branch of our nation-brand. Therefore, finding the various ministries and government entities willing to help is a vote of confidence in what we are doing. And that is honestly very much appreciated.
