Sweet 16! May is the time for Leone Goes Pop and this time it turns 16! Yes, it’s time for the 16th edition of Leone Goes Pop, that comes with a celebrated line-up that includes Gozo’s own lucky charm Sarah Bonnici, Amber, Gianluca Bezzina, and yet another Gozo pedigree Remy. Xarulu’ duo return with an opening warm-up set before the main show, while TV personality Angie Laus plays host.

It’s returning alright! With a line-up like that, it already goes to show that no stone will be left unturned to get the greatest indoor concert vibe ever. A concert in essence, but definitely a spectacle in true form. The Aurora, famous for its opera nights, will once again rise to the occasion and transforms itself into a powerhouse arena of its right and might.

The Leone Band, under the indefatigable Colin Attard, remains the backbone of the show in this beautifully-numbered 15th edition. Back in 2008 it went on record as the first of the traditional village bands with a complete ‘pop concert’. At it retains its primacy in the field with all sorts of innovative elements that have maintained Leone Goes Pop unrivalled through the years.
The audience will be treated not only with a setlist of rock classics and contemporary hits but an all-rounded concert, the likes of which audiences usually travel for around the continent. Unparalleled in its sound and lights installations, Leone Goes Pop is the go-to event in Gozo this May.
The 16th edition of Leone Goes Pop will be hosted at the Aurora Opera House on Friday 23rd May 2025, starting at 8:30pm. The line-up of singers includes Sarah Bonnici, Amber, Gianluca Bezzina and Remy. The ever popular Xarulu’ duo will return to the Aurora with the opening warm-up set.
Thanks to the Ministry for Gozo and a number of generous sponsors, entrance tickets are €10.00 per person. However, anyone wanting to up the experience on this much-anticipated night, premium tickets at €20.00 per head are available in the boxes.
