Preparing for my visit
YOUR MOTHER AND MINE - 8 MAY 2022
What do I need to know?
1) Where is this happening? Which seats do I book?
The children’s chorus will be on stage. Assuming you’re an adult, you will be on stage next to the chorus. Your children will be on stage next to you and everybody. They can sit on a chair or stay in a stroller. And if they want to crawl about, they can. We’re trying to make the space clean, safe and secure, and you needn’t stress about it. This means you just book a place, not a specific seat. Given we’re having rubber-foam matting, children will be asked to take off their shoes.
2) The usual theatre policies?
Understandably, all indoor areas of the opera house have a strict no-smoking policy on any day of the week, let alone when it’s a children’s concert. Food is usually not allowed, but we’re happy to bat an eyelid for children’s crackers (not burgers and fries!). The use of mobile phones is also usually very undesirable, but as this is all about making memories, yes you’re very much welcome to snap pictures and shoot videos. We also usually ask patrons to refrain from clapping while the music is on-going. Not this time! Get your hands ready because we’re making quite some noise. Strollers, buggies, carry-cots and the likes are not usually what one would want to see in a theatre, but not this time. Parents are invited to arrive in a timely manner so that they park their vehicles and settle themselves and their children and we’re able to start on time.
3) Make sure you’ve got your tickets… or not?
No. There are no specific tickets for this event. Booking is recommended so we keep control on the number of persons for each show. Once you place your booking, you’ll be put on our guest list and the guests names are checked at the door.
4) Can I get in touch with the Box Office?
Yes of course. You may call our ticket helpline anytime on +356 79045779. If you get no reply, feel free to drop us a text message and Matthew will call back. Owing to the voluntary nature of our organisation, the physical box office is not necessarily always open, so dropping by unexpectedly is not recommended. However, our Principal Box Officer will be happy to meet you at your convenience by appointment.
