The Gozo Youth Orchestra, in yet another joint production with 7SPP, with the continued support of Festivals Malta, is proud to present its latest collaboration: “The Golden Age of ABBA & Boney M”.
Saturday 21st November 2026 promises to be a night not to be easily forgotten as the craze of two epic-defining musical giants takes over the Aurora Opera House.
The line-up will on the night will feature The Gozo Youth Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Grech. They will be joined by Cash & Band, led by the one and only John (Cash) Cassar and the Rockin’ Knights, led by one of Malta’s finest guitarists Marc Galea. A truly incredible line-up of lead vocalists features Dorothy Bezzina, Sarah Bonnici and Neville Refalo, together with Dorothy Borg Bonnici, Natassja Chapman, Cassie Gold, Amelia Kalabic, Sean Kamati, Klinsmann, Francesco Nicodeme and Jessica Magro. The backing vocals will be provided by The Fort St. Elmo Singers, under the direction of Dorothy Bezzina.
ABBA and Boney M both defined their eras in their respective ways and manners, and this evening will do justice with that. So the evening will be evenly split into two, so that the best and most memorable tracks are weaved into one big party. Patrons should expect the immortal ever-greens such as Waterloo, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Money Money Money, Fernando, Rivers of Babylon, Rasputin, Daddy Cool, Ma Baker, Take a Chance on Me, Knowing Me Knowing You, Super Trouper, Dancing Queen, The Winner Takes it All plus lots more iconic numbers from the repertoires of these amazing bands. Once again the scores for this show have been prepared by, the hugely gifted Daryl McKenzie.
This show was first performed, before a FULL HOUSE at the MCC in Valletta in March 2026. It received a huge acclaim and takes on this momentum to return, now across the channel, in Gozo.
