It was 100% in-house and un-promoted to the wider audience but a special recital nonetheless. Friday 22nd April 2022 was an important date in the academic calendar of our youngsters at the Aurora Opera House and our parent organisation, the Leone Philharmonic Society.
It was a very moving weekend for the Leone Band and all of us at the Aurora as we went through three different musical engagements between Saturday and Monday. There go our youngsters with their wish and a prayer for world peace: Light a candle for peace. This is the cry of the children forming the junior chorus of the Aurora Opera House. We’ve seen them performing in the big opera on our stage. But we’ve also seen them doing their smaller productions of their own.

The 2020 new-production of Aida which was set to open the 2020/21 theatre season, and eventually postponed to October 2021 has now been once more postponed to October 2022. This was made public by the Aurora opera house after consultations with the Ministry for Gozo and Arts Council Malta.
